Below are a just a few different ways to mix and match some of the patterns. Feel free to make copies if you are teaching a class.

Kwik Posey Party– the TKQ way

This quilt uses Kwik Scrappy Log Cabin and Kwik Scrappy String with 2 large scale prints


Kwik Scrappy Log Cabin
12– 12” squares (all different)

 Fat quarter - sashing                    

Separate into 2 stacks of 6. Cut as separate stacks and swap #2, 3, 4, and 5. This will give you a positive/negative image. The only pattern piece to “shuffle” is #1…move 1 piece of fabric to the bottom of the stack.


Trim 8 blocks to 8½” x 9½” Sew them in 4 sets of 2 to measure 18½” x 8½”

 Sashing strips  Cut 8 – 18½” x 1½” sew to the 18½” sides

                          Cut 8 – 10½”x 1 ½ sew to the remaining sides  

Kwik Scrappy String 

½ yard brown for the sashing- cut sashing first  8 - 1½”x 42 (you will have some leftover to use for the center of the string blocks too)

1 fat quarter for center of string blocks

  

Green     8 - 12” squares (I picked 4 different ones and did the process twice)

Blue         8 – 12” squares (I picked 4 different ones and did the process twice)

Cut, swap and shuffle according to the pattern instructions.

Cut to 9½ x9½. Put blocks together in sets of 4 with the greens toward the center. Use all 16 blocks. Sash top and bottom, then sides.

Print Fabric

Ft Quarter-Large center square           cut 1 - 18½” x 18½” 

1 fat quarter sashing                            cut 4 – 1½ x 21

½ yard of alternate floral                      cut 4 - 8½” x 18½”

1 fat quarter sashing                            cut 8 – 1½” x 18½”    cut 8 - 1½x 10½”

Inner border -½ yard cut 1½”

Outer border – 1 yard cut 5½”

The colors used are Lime, Teal, Yellow, Orange, Pink, Purple and 14 different Black and Whites. Listed are the fabric requirements for each pattern as well as any changes that may be required. This makes a great month-by-month project that shows customers different ways to “think outside the box”.


Kwik Krazy Quilt


Black and Whites                   14  – 12” squares
(all different)


Cut and swap according to the pattern.

Use all 14 blocks


Kwik Scrappy Stars


Black and Whites                   6 – 12” squares (all different)

Brights                            6 – 12” squares (all different)


Cut and swap according to the pattern.

The stack that has the Black and White fabrics for the outer, and the Bright fabrics inner…

Shuffle only the Black and White fabrics according to the pattern. Do not shuffle the Bright star pieces. Sew according to the pattern.

(The other stack is leftovers- it is your choice how to shuffle the fabrics)


Use only the 6 blocks that have the bright color stars in the center

Layout in a pleasing placement and sew together. You will have a total of 44 blocks to play with. I used 35 blocks; laid out 5 x 7.
Inner Border is cut 1½”. Outer Border is cut 6½”
Binding is cut 3”

Kwik Scrappy Illusions


Brights                  12  – 12” squares (all different)
 

Separate into 2 stacks. Cut and swap according to the pattern. Ignore the shuffling instructions in the pattern. On pattern piece #1, move 1 piece of fabric to the bottom. This will make each block have 3 different colors.


Kwik Scrappy Hearts


Lime/Teal        6 - 12” squares (all different)

Pink/Purples         6 – 12” squares (all different)


Cut swap and shuffle according to the pattern. Twist the ruler as much as possible when trimming the blocks to 9½”x9½”.


Kwik Scrappy Frames


Pink                       6 - 12” squares (all different)

Orange                  6 – 12” squares (all different)

Something to Fussy-cut for the center.


Cut, swap, and shuffle according to the pattern. Remove center and replace with 4½”x 4½” fussy-cut squares. Twist the ruler as much as possible when trimming the blocks to 9½”x9½”.


Kwik Scrappy Stars
 

Lime                      6 – 12” squares (all different)

Teal                       6 – 12” squares (all different)


Cut, swap, and shuffle according to the pattern instructions. Twist the ruler as much as possible when trimming the blocks to 9½”x9½”.

 

Kwik Krazy Borders

Brights                  14 – Fat Quarters (18”x 22’) (all different) 

Cut, swap, and shuffle according to the pattern.

               

Sashing and Binding


Royal Blue            6 – 1/3 yard (all different)

                                      Cut 10 – 1½x 12” from each 1/3 yard – piece end
                                      to end for sashing

              
                           Cut 3 – 3”x 25” from what is leftover – piece end to end for binding

Kwik Scrappy Stars  (center section)


Pink/Purple           6 – 12” squares (all different)

Yellow             6 – 12” squares (doesn’t matter if they are the same)


Cut and swap according to the pattern.


The stack that has the Pink/Purple outer, and the Yellow inner-

Shuffle only the Pink/Purple according to the pattern. Do not shuffle the Yellow Star pieces.

(The other stack is leftovers- it is your choice to shuffle the fabrics)


Kwik Scrappy Stars (4 corners)


Lime                6 – 12” squares (all different)

Pink/Purples         6 – 12” squares (all different)

Yellow             ¾ yard (this is for the inner border and binding, too)

cut 6 – 1½” strips                                              

cut 6 – 3” strips
 

Cut, swap, and shuffle according to the pattern instructions.

Cut 4 down to 8½”X 8½”. Add yellow to 2 sides of these for the corners

(the remainder of the blocks are leftover)


Kwik Scrappy String
 
 

Lime/Teal       6 - 12” squares (all different)

Pink/Purples         6 – 12” squares (all different)


Cut, swap and shuffle according to the pattern instructions.

Put inner section together. Add the remaining Yellow 1½” strips for the inner border.

 

Kwik Scrappy Squares


Brights                  24 – 12” squares (all different)

Separate into 2 even stacks… Cut, swap and shuffle according to the pattern instructions.

Cut 4 – 9½”x 9½” (for the corners)

Cut 16 – 9½”x 10 (this makes the math work since we put the inner border on)
